Hello there.
Quite a few wee people have been wondering where Oi've been since the last time the lad and Oi (Fr Mike Delaney and the Little Monk) were in Ireland. Well, himself is a bit wary about me being out and about so Oi've had to be living in the Parish House at New Norfolk, Tasmania and getting a little rounder than when you last saw me, mainly through lack of exercise.
Well, we're about to go back to Ireland for another wee trip - this time we're both having a holiday. Oi'll also be having a chance to see the wee Irish Lass who was out here working in the Parish last year. You might be remembering that she was with your man when he was at Marianella - he seemed to leave me out a bit when it came time for the tree of us to be getting out when the lass was here so Oi'm hoping that we might all have time to have some craic when we get to Ireland in just over three weeks time.
Oi'll be trying to give some updates on what he's up to in the meantime so call back here when you're wandering round the internet and see what the lad (and meself as well) are up to.
This time he's organised some wine bottle packages to take some wine with him and he's also been checking to see how much he can take into Ireland as well - something must be wrong with him.
He's also written a list of the things he still needs to get before he goes so it looks like he really is interested in having this holiday.
Oi'll be back in the next few days to see let you know what else he is up to.
To read what else is happening in the parish at present please follow the link on the bottom left hand corner of the page to go to the Parish Index page.
when the trip is over and you want to read what happens back in Tasmania you can click the right hand button below and it will take you to the July 2004 Daily Notes and News.
Call back soon to see what else he's up to.
The wee lad has been up for some time - me, Oi've been watching the TV in a bit of peace and quiet - your man is running round as if everything depended on him to be done for the next month or so.
Anyway, my wee bag is packed and Oi'm ready to go. Oi hope that he sleeps on the plane trip because me tinks he's going to be very excited when he gets there as he seems to love Ireland a lot.
Anyway, Oi hope you'll be coming back to hear how we got on and to see how much Oi enjoy myself catching up with some of my friends.
Sandy and Mary picked us up at Graham’s and when he got to the airport he found that he'd left his glasses on the front seat of his car at New Town it was them that was able to provide the mobile phone because his wee phone was playing up and he was becoming worried that it might not work when he got to Ireland but more about that later. He made a frantic phone call to Sr Lorraine to ask if she could call by and collect them.
He survived the trip to Melbourne on Jetstar – meself can sleep anywhere – but when he tried to use his mobile the screen really had died so he was stuck.
Heading out of Melbourne for Hong Kong seemed to take forever but finally we got to Hong Kong and moved to the lounge for the next flight – there was only a short time between the two flights but it all seemed to work out ok.
Had an aisle seat from Hong Kong and slept a little but was really tired when he got to Heathrow which is really huge. We got to Terminal 1 to travel to Ireland and went through Document control and then the wee lad walked for 15 minutes to get to the gate lounge for the flight to Ireland. He had meant to make some phone calls whilst he was in the UK but me tinks he'll need to be making them later.
All in all the trip over was grand - tiring for the wee lad but meself, well Oi was all right because Oi'm such a wee fella that Oi fit into any space.
Tis is where you can make a choice - if you click here you can continue to read just the text of my trip around Ireland - if you click here you can go to Day 1 of my trip, read the text and see some of my photos as well. Oi've had to break the story up into single days so that each page doesn't take you too long to download. So take your pick and enjoy the trip.
