During the very last days of 2004 and the first half of 2005 Fr Mike was posted to HMAS Darwin to serve as a chaplain on board the ship during her deployment as part of Operation Catalyst, part of the Australian Government commitment to the rehabilitation of Iraq. To read something of the story of how he got called up and his subsequent activities in the NAG (North Arabian Gulf) start here and then follow the links through December-June. Like all his stories there is some poetic licence but most of it is true!!!!
